Everyone makes big life plans, but seldom you see yourself on the right track to achieve the goal. Sometimes you find it difficult to make a new habit facilitative for a certain target and stick to it. As we all are great in making new plans, achieving big things, and living our life to the fullest, "in our thoughts"🤔,  what about using our thoughts to transform our lives! Sound great, right! Do you want to know how? Well! That is why I am here; to tell you an easy way to transform your life, by "Self-Affirmations".

Positive self-affirmations make you aware of your thoughts, feelings, and behavior. And when you become aware you try to convert your negative thoughts into positive ones to feel better. Similarly, by doing this, you start decreasing the affect of stress, depression, and other emotional disturbances by reminding yourself of positive thoughts and feelings and focusing on ways to get better.

What are self-affirmations?

Self-affirmations are the positive sentences that train your subconscious and the conscious mind and affect your thinking, behavior, habits, patterns, and environment. These statements help you overcome self-sabotaging and bring positive changes to your life. Self-affirmations consists of words that bring up different images in your mind. Such words and images affect your subconscious mind and influence your behavior, actions, thoughts, and reactions.
If you are not well informed about the subconscious mind, you may be wondering what is that, how it is different from conscious and unconscious about which we usually talk about, and how your subconscious mind affects your life.

Power of the Subconscious mind:

You can understand the power of the subconscious mind by the fact that it controls 95% of your life. Yes, you read that right! Our conscious mind just controls 10% of your life by performing tasks such as logical reasoning, calculations, logical comparisons, and others, and is related to your awareness. But, the conscious mind is just the tip of the iceberg, a metaphor used by Sigmund Freud, a founder of psychoanalysis.

Below the water, there is much more than the tip of the iceberg. Similarly, the subconscious mind is 30-60% of the mind, greater than the conscious and unconscious mind. Your subconscious mind stores information such as memories, your personal beliefs, skills, circumstances, experiences, and images. It can automatically trigger emotions and is not able to tell the difference between real and fictional. And this is what we use for self-affirmations. Now you may understand where lies all the magic, the subconscious mind. You must train your subconscious mind to live your desired life.

How self-affirmations work?

Self-affirmations work by the principle of neuroplasticity, i-e, you can rewire your brain using your words. You may have heard about Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP. According to NLP, you can program your brain, your thinking, your behavior, and your life by words.

William Shakespeare

The number of thoughts that an average person has during the day is approximately 12,000 to 60,000, according to the National Science Foundation. Of these, 80% of thoughts are negative. Moreover, 95% of thoughts that an average person has in a day, are repetitive.
Don't get intimidated by the number of thoughts that how can you change all those thoughts. It definitely seems difficult. But there are some tips and tricks to do this.
The way you can communicate with your subconscious mind is emotions. When your thought is associated with strong emotions, it impresses the subconscious mind. And it works for both positive and negative thoughts. These thoughts will become a part of your mindset, your attitude, and then design your repetitive thoughts, as said earlier, your habits and your life, subconsciously, or consciously
You can find it difficult to identify each and every thought, but you can identify how you are feeling. If you are feeling happy, you are on the right path, as your thoughts lead to emotions, and if you are sad, angry, or experiencing any other negative emotions, you are not on the path of getting what makes you happy.
This phenomenon is known as the law of attraction, that your positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences in your life.

"The Secret" is an amazing book written by Rhonda Byrne. It is based on the "Law Of Attraction", a proven fact that a person can change his/her life by changing the thoughts. The book also describes the scientific process behind it. For instance, how your thoughts change your bodily vibrations and help you send those messages in the universe, and the universe, in return, plans to give you what you desire.
